Bio
Olivia Isabel Rosato was born and raised in Los Angeles, where she received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2017. In 2020, she relocated to Chicago where she still lives and works. Her studio practice is focused in oil painting, drawing, and printmaking using softly recognizable imagery and architecture as a vehicle to transform pictorial space into liminal space. The picture plane becomes a threshold to explore the emotional resonance of memory, grief, and the interior within constructed space. Her work has been exhibited in group shows in Los Angeles and Chicago. Recent publications include New American Paintings Issue No.173. She is currently pursuing an MFA at the University of Chicago.
